HANDGUN FUNDAMENTALS

This is a 2-Day course designed to introduce you to solid firearm safety, handling, shooting, and building confidence. Your first day of training is a 4hr session while the second is a 3hr session. This course is designed for individuals or small groups (up to 4 people). If two people are registering together, you can split the cost however you like.  Additional students are charged at 25% of the normal rate per shooter.

This class is offered at 1/2 off our normal instructor fee simply because we want as many people as possible to be able to get this valuable training.

Handgun Fundamentals Equipment Requirements

  • Centerfire handgun in a minimum defensive caliber. *If you currently don’t own a firearm, no problem, we will allow you to shoot ours.

  • Ammunition as required per the course requested. 200 rounds minimum for Fundamentals Day I, and 300-400 rounds for Fundamentals Day II is the recommendation.

  • Spare magazines (2, at least)

  • Spare ammunition pouches, carrier, or magazine holster

  • Method of carrying the handgun (i.e.- suitable belt and belt holster), if you own one (not required)

  • Ear protection – electronic muffs are strongly recommended.

  • Eye protection

  • Clothing suitable for the weather (“There is no bad weather, just bad clothing!” -Pat Goodale).

  • Cap with a brim

  • Rugged shoes or boots

  • Lunch and drinks

  • Optional comfort items (rain gear, camera, sunscreen, etc.)

Cost breakdown:

Our class content covers everything you would get in typically 3 separate classes from other shooting schools. These other schools usually charge around $400-$500 total per shooter and would require 3 days to complete.  Our method of training removes all of the fluff and filler information, we only teach you what you need to know, and then we do what they don’t…..we provide the first steps in becoming a true Gunfighter!

The below pricing is for the full 2-Day Course (7 hours of training)

Private Lesson: $350 ($50/hr)

Additional students (4 students max per class): 

  • $525 for 1 additional student ($37.50/hr per person)

  • $630 for 2 additional students ($30/hr per person)

  • $700 for 3 additional students ($25/hr per person)

These are entry level classes for the novice/beginner to become familiarized with the handgun and safe gun handling, or someone who simply wants a fundamentals refresher course.

All the following will be discussed and demonstrated and experienced:

  • Safe Gun Handling Rules

  • Proper terms and nomenclature of the Pistol

  • Differences in ammo and the purpose of each

  • Proper shooting grip

  • Proper sight alignment and sight picture

  • Proper trigger control

  • Proper shooting position

  • How to safely load and unload the Pistol

  • Safe Dry Practice Rules

  • Range Safety

  • Stop The Bleed 1st Aid

During the second day of training we ramp things up a bit and start teaching you basic Gunfighter skills.  You will actually learn how to defend yourself!

  • Day-1 refresher

  • Close range engagements

  • Medium range engagements

  • Trigger manipulation

  • Follow-through drills

  • Rapid fire drills

  • Self-Defense and Home Defense discussion

  • And more!  (Training progresses at your ability to advance)

*You DO NOT need to own a firearm to attend this class, you can learn on ours!  We actually would prefer that if you don’t already own a firearm, you take this class before your purchase.  We will give you advice based on your abilities and the intended role of the firearm in your life.

A legal guardian has to attend the class with minors.  An assessment on the first day will be done to determine a minor’s ability to safely continue with training.
